An asset list is a client’s whole life, itemized.
Estate work gathers personal and financial detail in one place, then turns it into documents that must be right. Candor screens what goes to AI and records the review of what comes back.
Where AI goes wrong in this work
- Asset schedules, account numbers, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses and health information about capacity can all end up in a prompt.
- An AI-drafted will or trust provision can state something the client’s documents don’t support, in confident language.
- Years later, someone may ask how a document was prepared.
What Candor does about it
- Screening flags account and Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, medical terms and dollar figures before anything is sent, and hands back a redacted copy.
- A source-consistency check, run in the browser, flags statements in an AI draft that can’t be traced to the client documents the attorney picks. The documents are not uploaded.
- Hedge words in an AI answer (“appears”, “likely”, “may”) are surfaced as prompts for a closer read.
- A drafting entry asks the person logging it to attest that they checked the citations and factual statements themselves, and the Word add-in screens and logs inside the document.
Screening and citation flags reduce risk; they don’t remove it. The attorney’s review is what counts, and Candor records it.
